I am interested in human impacts on the marine environment and in the past have worked on impacts of fishing, aquaculture, and wind farms to name but a few. I am currently working on my PhD which is looking at the ecological impact of beach clearing on coastal biodiversity in Scotland. I am looking at the impact on coastal ecology and specifically sand dunes when stranded seaweed is removed from the beach. Another part of my PhD is in association with the Economics Department to try and find out how people value different Environmental Services beaches have to offer.
