Caroline Griffin

griffinCaroline Griffin (PhD Student, University of Stirling) I am interested in human impacts on the marine environment and in the past have worked on impacts of fishing, aquaculture, and wind farms to name but a few. I am currently working on my PhD which aims to find out the ecological impact of beach clearing on coastal biodiversity in Scotland. I am looking at the impact on coastal ecology and specifically sand dunes when stranded seaweed is removed from the beach by mechanical grooming. Another aspect of my PhD is in collaboration with the Economics Department and is looking into how much people value the different Environmental Services the beach environment has to offer.
